Patrick Potter Joins Dickinson Wright Washington, D.C. Office as a Member

Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that Patrick Potter has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office as a Member.

Patrick is an internationally-known bankruptcy attorney who provides clients with innovative and practical solutions to business problems across a variety of industries, including the commercial real estate, health care, energy and hospitality sectors. With more than three decades of experience, Patrick has appeared before more than 50 bankruptcy judges and federal courts throughout the country. While he represents creditors and other stakeholders, Patrick is foremost a restructuring attorney, assisting debtor clients in saving businesses and jobs. Patrick is consistently recognized as a leader in his field by Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, LawDragon, and Washingtonian Magazine.

In his international practice, Patrick has more than a decade of experience assisting foreign governments in the drafting and implementation of new and modern bankruptcy laws and procedures. He has provided on-the-ground “capacity building” work for several countries, including Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Morocco, Egypt, Kuwait, United Arab Emirates, and the Republic of Georgia. Patrick regularly speaks, writes, and conducts workshops in these countries in coordination with the World Bank Group, the U.S. Commerce Department (Commercial Law Development Program), INSOL International, and others.

Patrick is an INSOL Fellow, serving on INSOL’s Middle East North Africa Advisory Council, a member of the International Insolvency Institute, serving as Co-Chair of the Membership Committee, and a member of the American Bankruptcy Institute, serving as Co-Chair of the Real Estate Committee. He is also a member of the Business and Bankruptcy Law Sections of the American Bar Association, District of Columbia Bar Association, Michigan Bar Association, and Virginia Bar Association.

Patrick received his B.A. from Michigan State University and his J.D. from the University of Michigan Law School.
