Stacey J. Longanecker

Stacey J. Longanecker has experience in electronic, electrical, communications and computer patent matters. She focuses on preparing and prosecuting U.S. and foreign patent applications and conducting studies of patent validity and infringement. She also counsels clients on patenting strategies and IP portfolio management including conducting IP due diligence studies for mergers and acquisitions and commercial market introductions of products and services. Her clients include Fortune 100, Fortune 500 and foreign companies.

Stacey has extensive experience in communications technologies such as optical networks, mobile and other wireless communications, satellite communications and other broadband communications, and networking and computer technologies including secure content distribution, information storage and processing applications. She also has experience with medical devices, human machine interface technology and software.

• Represented a Fortune 500 medical technology company and assisted in analyzing several new medical device products at various stages of product development and analyzing the relevant patent landscape in the US and various foreign countries and procuring patent protection for product designs.
• Advised a Top-Tier international tool manufacturing company on freedom to operate, patent portfolio development, and transactional IP matters for new product development.
• Served as counsel to an engineering design company that provides customized radio frequency antenna products and payload solutions to the US Government for space, aeronautical, ground mobile, and fixed applications, and assisted in negotiating a contractual agreement for the development of satellite communications technology and protecting the client’s intellectual property in that technology.
• Counsel for Hubbell Incorporated enforcing four patents on occupancy sensors, which resulted in admission of infringement on Summary Judgement before trial.
• Retained by a Top-Tier international medical diagnostics equipment manufacturing company to provide Intellectual Property counsel and assist with filing patent applications on their behalf for their medical imaging products.
