    Shauna Norton focuses her practice primarily on intellectual property law with an emphasis on establishing, protecting and defending trademark and copyright rights, both foreign and domestic, and on the internet.

    Shauna brings nearly two decades of experience and advises clients in all aspects of brand development, trademark clearance, prosecution, and enforcement. She has represented clients in trademark, copyright and domain name disputes, as well as in opposition and cancellation proceedings before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board. Shauna has significant experience negotiating and preparing trademark licenses, assignments, settlements, and coexistence agreements. She also negotiates and drafts a variety of entertainment contracts on behalf of entertainment and hospitality clients.

    • Represents multiple celebrities, professional athletes, entertainers, and other high-profile clients in the management and protection of their worldwide intellectual property portfolios, including policing, enforcing, and defending their trademarks, copyrights, and other intellectual property rights.
    • Represents a global technology company in its worldwide trademark clearance.
    • Represents a global online fashion brand in the management of its global trademark portfolio, including prosecuting numerous filings and protecting its multiple brands worldwide.
    • Retained by a major manufacturer of drinkware, barware, and bar accessories to manage and protect its worldwide trademark portfolio.
    • Represented a regional restaurant management group in negotiating license agreements with music artists in connection with the opening of multiple artist-branded bar and restaurant venues.
    • Managed a sports promotion company’s worldwide intellectual property portfolio (and its subsidiaries), consisting of over 7,000 filings worldwide. This representation included handling all clearance, prosecution, and enforcement, including but not limited to, conducting U.S. and worldwide clearance searches and advising on risk and registrability of proposed marks, drafting USPTO office action responses, preparing cease and desist letters, preparing and filing actions at the TTAB, and negotiating and drafting license, coexistence, and settlement agreements.
