Overview
Sahar Cadili is a commercial and estates litigator who represents individuals, corporations, shareholders, business owners and estates in complex and high-stakes disputes. Her practice has a particular focus on urgent and interlocutory relief, including Mareva injunctions and other extraordinary remedies to protect assets, preserve evidence, prevent dissipation of property, and safeguard her clients’ legal and commercial interests.
Her commercial litigation practice includes shareholder and oppression disputes, corporate and contractual disputes, real estate and property litigation, disputes involving financial institutions, and proceedings involving the recovery and preservation of funds. She approaches litigation strategically, with an emphasis on practical solutions and outcomes that serve her clients’ broader business and financial interests.
Sahar also maintains a substantial estates litigation practice. She represents beneficiaries, estate trustees, executors, attorneys, and other interested parties in disputes concerning wills, estates, and the management of property and financial affairs. Her experience includes:
- Will challenges;
- Disputes concerning testamentary capacity and undue influence;
- Challenges to the validity or exercise of powers of attorney for property and personal care;
- Disputes involving estate trustees, passing of accounts; and
- Other claims concerning estate assets
The two areas of Sahar’s practice frequently converge, particularly in disputes involving family wealth and closely held businesses. These disputes often involve overlapping issues of shareholder rights, oppression, wills, powers of attorney, estate assets and competing claims to title, requiring a coordinated approach across both commercial and estates law. Sahar’s experience in both areas enables her to address these interconnected issues as part of a cohesive litigation strategy.
Sahar regularly appears before the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, including the Commercial List and Estates List, and has also appeared before the Ontario Court of Appeal. She brings a practical, efficient and results-focused approach to complex litigation.
