    Overview

    Robert E. McPeak is a member in Dickinson Wright’s Las Vegas office. His practice focuses on real estate, real estate finance, renewable energy project development and finance, and corporate matters.

    Robert maintains a comprehensive real estate practice encompassing all aspects of property acquisition, financing, development, management, leasing, and disposition. He represents clients across a broad range of commercial property types, including retail, office, industrial, multifamily, master-planned communities, condominiums, mixed-use developments, casinos, hotels, and timeshare projects throughout Nevada. Drawing on his extensive experience in the state, Robert is known for providing practical, business-focused counsel on complex transactions and day-to-day operational matters.

    In addition, Robert regularly advises clients on opportunities arising from the advanced energy transition, with a particular focus on developing solar, wind, and geothermal resources in Nevada and throughout the Southwest. He represents developers, lenders, and tax equity investors in connection with the development, permitting, and financing of renewable energy projects.

    Robert also counsels Nevada corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, and their respective shareholders, members, managers, and partners on entity formation, governance, and ongoing operations.

    Robert is also deeply committed to pro bono and community service. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Legal Aid Center of Southern Nevada (LACSN) and provides legal support for development and contruction of LACSN’s Advocacy and Justice Campus, which is designed to serve survivors of violent crime throughout Nevada.

    Robert also serves as pro bono counsel to the Forever One Memorial, which, upon completion, will provide a permanent place to honor and remember the victims of the One October tragedy.

    Real Estate & Finance

    • Represented a Las Vegas-based industrial developer in the acquisition, development, leasing, and disposition of multiple industrial and logistics projects throughout Henderson, Las Vegas, and North Las Vegas, Nevada.
    • Represented a leading developer of luxury multifamily communities in the acquisition and construction financing of several thousand residential units.
    • Represented the buyer in the acquisition and financing of multiple Class A office buildings in Las Vegas, Nevada.
    • Represented an investment management firm in the acquisition, financing, and disposition of multiple value-add multifamily communities in Las Vegas, Nevada.
    • Represented an industrial userin the leasing of an over 100,000-square-foot facility in Las Vegas, Nevada.
    • Represented borrowers, guarantors, and lenders in a broad range of commercial real estate loan transactions, including acquisition financing secured by the underlying real property.
    • Represented borrowers, guarantors, note purchasers, lenders, and loan servicers in workout and enforcement matters involving more than $3 billion in distressed commercial real estate loans across Arizona, California, and Nevada, including receivership sales, REO management, and dispositions.
    • Represented a syndicate of senior secured lenders in the workout and restructuring of a $470 million construction loan secured by a mixed-use retail and office development in Las Vegas, Nevada.
    • Represented a national homebuilder in the formation of common-interest communities and the negotiation of development agreements, shared-entry agreements, public offering statements, and other sales-related disclosures throughout Southern and Northern Nevada.

     

    Advanced Energy & Natural Resources

    • Represented the developer in connection with a $300 millon financing package for the construction of a 100 MWac/130 MWdc of solar generation facility with 400 MWh of energy storage.
    • Served as Nevada counsel to the developer in the debt and tax equity financing of a 690 MW solar photovoltaic generating facility and 380 MW battery energy storage system in Clark County, Nevada—the largest single project of its kind in the United States to begin construction at the time.
    • Served as Nevada counsel to the tax equity investor in its investment in a 300 MW solar photovoltaic generating facility located on tribal land in Clark County, Nevada.
    • Served as Nevada counsel to the tax equity investor in its investment in a 180 MW solar photovoltaic generating facility in Boulder City, Nevada.
    • Served as Nevada counsel to the tax equity investor in its investment in the repowering of a 37.1 MW geothermal facility in Washoe County, Nevada.
    • Served as Nevada counsel to the developer in the refinancing of a 152 MW wind power project in White Pine County, Nevada—the largest project of its kind in the state.
