    Overview

    Nikki Gibson is a member in Dickinson Wright’s Austin office who represents financial institutions, developers, private equity funds, and borrowers in complex commercial finance and real estate transactions. Her practice focuses on structuring, negotiating, and documenting a wide range of financing arrangements, including senior and subordinated debt, syndicated loans, asset-based lending, and real estate financings.

    Nikki advises clients on secured lending and investment transactions across a range of industries and asset classes, including multifamily and affordable housing, industrial and hospitality projects, senior and behavioral health facilities, and other operating businesses. Her work includes acquisition and construction financing, syndicated credit facilities, cross-border transactions, and joint ventures, with matters throughout Texas and the broader Southwest and Southeast.

    Experience

    • Represented a financial institution in a $43 million cross-border financing transaction supporting operations in the United States and Mexico
    • Represented Bank of Texas in an $80 million syndicated loan financing a four-phase industrial development totaling nearly two million square feet in the Dallas-Fort Worth area
    • Represented a private equity fund in structuring a $135+ million joint venture for the acquisition of three multifamily residential developments
    • Served as lead counsel to the administrative agent and lender in a $77.5 million syndicated construction loan for a senior living facility in Atlanta, Georgia
    • Represented sellers in the $63 million sale of two multifamily communities totaling 485 units in The Woodlands, Texas
    • Advised a financial institution on a construction loan utilizing historic tax credits to finance the rehabilitation of a warehouse property\
    • Represented a financial institution in financing the acquisition of golf resorts located in North and South Carolina
    • Represented developers in the acquisition, financing, and disposition of multifamily and commercial real estate projects, including transactions valued at $46 million, $35 million, and $25 million
    • Advised financial institutions on financing transactions for senior housing, student housing, shopping centers, and oil and gas services companies
    • Represented a financial institution in the financing and refinancing of a $24 million restaurant chain acquisition, including negotiation of an intercreditor agreement with the mezzanine lender
