Andrew D. Dorisio

Andrew Dorisio is a patent and trademark attorney in Dickinson Wright’s Lexington office with more than 30 years of experience advising clients on intellectual property protection and portfolio management. He handles patent and trademark prosecution and clearance, and counsels clients on IP acquisition, freedom to operate, and infringement risk across a range of industries.

Andrew previously served as an Adjunct Professor at the University of Kentucky College of Law, where he taught patent law, trademark law, and intellectual property transactions.

• Represented a geological exploration company in trademark matters and in prosecuting a patent on a quality assurance and quality control (QAQC) system designed to reduce drilling errors.
• Co-counsel for the applicant in a trademark opposition, Satco Products, Inc. v. Thread Group, Inc., Opposition No. 91231155.

• Trial counsel, and co-counsel on appeal, for the prevailing appellee in a patent infringement case, MRC Innovations, Inc. v. Hunter Mfg., LLP, 747 F.3d 1326 (Fed. Cir. 2014), cert. denied, 574 U.S. 868 (2014).
