Alan J. Perlman

A member in Dickinson Wright’s Ft. Lauderdale office, Alan Perlman focuses his practice on the resolution of complex business disputes in the bankruptcy and commercial litigation forums. He frequently handles bankruptcy, insolvency litigation, State and Federal complex litigation, workouts, ABCs, avoidance actions, purchase and sale engagements, corporate reorganization and related appeals, with a presence throughout the State of Florida. Alan speaks and writes frequently on various topics related to his practice. He has been recognized by his peers and numerous publications for professional excellence including Florida Super Lawyers. He received his J.D. from the University of Miami School of Law, cum laude, and was a member of the University of Miami Law Review.

• Represented a client in a cross-border trademark license dispute, where the opposing party from abroad misused Section 1782 discovery for harassment and other improper purposes.
• Advised a client facing allegations of mismanagement, particularly regarding plans by defendants to sell the LLC’s last valuable asset for personal gain.
• Acted as counsel for a Miami restaurant owner embroiled in a global trademark and unfair competition dispute, addressing intricate issues of trademark licensing, ownership, assignments, USPTO fraud, and licensee estoppel.
• Defended a furniture company in a federal case involving trade secret violations, breaches of employment contracts, and covenants not to compete.
