Overview
Jonathan Wachs was recently quoted in a Business Monthly article, “Federal cannabis rescheduling would boost industry profits in Maryland,” discussing the reclassification of marijuana for Maryland’s cannabis industry and the type of regulation that will be implemented. Jonathan also stated, “Rescheduling does not automatically mean operators would be able to transport cannabis across state lines. The product would still be subject to federal restrictions under the FDA, the USDA and the DEA, and applicable state regulations. The FDA could take the position that it must approve all Schedule III cannabis products before they are sold. The result would be to replace one very expensive federal compliance obligation with a new one.” To read more, click here.
