    Overview

Dickinson Wright is pleased to announce that Travis Riley has joined the firm’s Denver office as a Member.

Travis focuses his practice on construction law and commercial litigation. He represents contractors, subcontractors, suppliers, owners, and developers in disputes arising throughout the life of a project, from contract negotiation and drafting to litigation in state and federal courts. He advises clients in Colorado, Texas, and beyond on practical legal solutions that help keep projects moving while protecting their business interests.

Travis handles a wide range of matters, including mechanic’s liens, construction defects, breach-of-contract claims, payment and delay disputes, public works and government contracts, business torts, partnership disputes, contractor terminations, and design and change-order issues. He represents clients in mediation, arbitration, and trial, and has successfully resolved high-value disputes before judges, juries, and arbitrators. In addition to resolving disputes, Travis serves as outside counsel to construction companies, helping them manage risk before issues arise. He drafts and negotiates construction contracts, including industry-standard and customized agreements, with a focus on key provisions such as scope of work, payment terms, scheduling, indemnification, and dispute resolution.

Travis is a Fellow of the Construction Lawyers Society of America, an invitation-only organization recognizing accomplished construction attorneys. He also serves as Attorney’s Council for the American Subcontractors Association of Colorado and teaches at the Construction Mastery Institute, where he works with construction professionals on legal risk management and practical industry issues. Travis received his B.S. from Texas Tech University and his J.D. from St. Mary’s University School of Law.
