Law360 recently published Michael Beckwith’s article, “5 Notable Anti-Money Laundering Actions From 2024,” highlighting an increased federal scrutiny of anti-money laundering, or AML, efforts and the impact on the banking, cryptocurrency, and gaming industries. Beckwith notes, “congressional focus on AML issues led to the Corporate Transparency Act, which became effective in 2024. Though currently mired in litigation, the CTA  is aimed at identifying the beneficial owners of shell companies and other entities used to circumvent the BSA and its AML programs.”
