Intellectual Property Attorneys Jonathan Baker and Steven Daniels Join Dickinson Wright

Dickinson Wright PLLC is pleased to announce that Attorneys Jonathan D. Baker and Steven R. Daniels have joined the firm as Members.

Jonathan Baker is a Member in the firm’s Silicon Valley office. He has nearly 20 years of experience litigating intellectual property cases. He has served as lead counsel in trials before the U.S. International Trade Commission, in district court cases throughout the country, in appeals before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and the U.S. Supreme Court, and in inter partes review proceedings at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board.

Mr. Baker has represented numerous leading technology companies in developing and implementing patent monetization strategies, as well as in defending against patent infringement claims. He has also represented clients in trademark, copyright, and trade secret cases. He has litigated cases in diverse technologies, including computer hardware and software, wireless communications, semiconductors, analog circuity, life sciences, and financial trading systems.

Mr. Baker has been recognized as a leader in his field by Super Lawyers and the National Law Journal. He received his B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Maryland; his M.S. in electrical engineering and computer science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology; and his J.D. from Harvard Law School.

Steven Daniels is a Member in the firm’s Austin office. He has more than twenty years of experience in patent, trade secret, and commercial litigation on behalf of clients in a variety of industries. He has acted as lead counsel for clients ranging from companies in the Fortune 50 to individuals, and in cases involving wireless technology, computer software and hardware, gaming devices, pharmaceuticals and medical devices.

Before joining Dickinson Wright, Mr. Daniels practiced with several large, international law firms. His experience includes providing advice to stakeholders regarding intellectual property issues likely to arise during the negotiation of the United States-Korea Free Trade Agreement and providing seminars on American intellectual property law to judges and patent examiners of the Korean Intellectual Property Office and the Korean Innovators Forum.

Mr. Daniels is recognized as a leader in his field by Best Lawyers in America and Texas Super Lawyers. He received his J.D. from the University of North Carolina. He is licensed to practice in Texas, California and Georgia, and is a registered patent attorney.
