Alex Crandall’s article, “Justices Mull Sex-Based Classification In Trans Law Case,” was recently published in Law360. In her article, she discusses U.S. v. Skrmetti, a case poised to determine whether the Equal Protection Clause prohibits a state from banning gender-affirming care for minors living within its borders. She says, “This case is the court’s first opportunity to determine whether state actions targeting transgender individuals are subject to heightened scrutiny. Whether the court extends its reasoning in Bostock to the equal protection clause could affect not only transgender individuals, but those across the entire LGBTQ+ spectrum.” To read more, click here.
